Sylvia MacDonald, the owner of K9 Brite Bark, started the amazing technique of cleaning pets teeth without the use of anesthesia in 1970. Sylvia began her career by showing dogs and soon became a professional handler. Her job was to have the show dogs in top form which included brushing, grooming, nail clipping, and the cleaning of their teeth. Sylvia then opened up one of the most successful grooming salons, as well as, a post-secondary trade school for training pet groomers all over the world. During the fifteen years as the owner of her highly reputable salon and school, Sylvia heard many sad stories of her clients pet’s, untimely death due to the use of anesthesia during teeth cleaning procedures. Aimed at finding a solution to this avoidable issue, Sylvia further educated herself on pet oral hygiene and with this knowledge and many years of teeth cleaning experience, she opened up K9 Brite Bark.
